Aosagaura Church, officially designated as an Important Cultural Property, is located in the northern part of Nakadori Island. This historic red brick church, designed by Tetsukawa Yosuke, showcases stunning stained glass windows and a unique bat-wing ceiling. Built in 1910, it represents early brick church architecture in Japan, constructed with the help of local parishioners who carried the bricks themselves. Visitors can appreciate its serene atmosphere and architectural beauty, overlooking Nama Bay. Note that the church is still active, and interior photography is prohibited. The best time to visit is during the day to see the stained glass illuminated by sunlight.
