The Heart Sound Archive on Teshima Island offers a unique and thought-provoking experience. Visitors can listen to heartbeats collected from people around the world in a darkened "Heart Room" where a lightbulb pulses in sync with the sounds. The "Listening Room" provides access to a vast library of heart sounds via computer terminals. For a fee, you can even record your own heartbeat to be added to the archive. Located near the sea in the Karato district, the archive's exterior features traditional charred wood, blending art with the island's natural beauty. Open from 10:00 AM, closing times vary seasonally, and closed on Tuesdays (and Wednesdays/Thursdays during winter months).
