Overview

Oshima Dam, also known as Lake Asagiri, is a multipurpose gravity concrete dam located in Shinshiro, Aichi Prefecture. Completed in 2001, it serves as a water source for the Toyokawa River system, providing agricultural and municipal water to the eastern Mikawa region of Aichi and the Kosai region of Shizuoka. Visitors can explore the free exhibition room to learn about the dam's role and enjoy the serene views of Lake Asagiri, often shrouded in morning mist. The dam is easily accessible from the Horai Gorge Interchange on the San-En Nanashin Expressway and offers parking and restroom facilities. It's a peaceful spot to appreciate the surrounding rugged mountain scenery.
