The Yutaka Hall is the former residence of Kihachiro Yoshimasa Fujino, an Omi merchant who prospered in Hokkaido trade during the late Edo period. Known for his "Akebono" canned goods, Fujino's legacy is preserved in this historic building, featuring a study, main house, library warehouse, and a garden designed by Donketsu. Visitors can view artifacts such as a Nagasaki clock with ebony carvings, a Kamakura-era Tokoname jar, and items gifted by Ii Naosuke, including a Hikonen screen by Kano Eikai. Located in Toyosato, Shiga Prefecture, it's a 10-minute walk from Toyosato Station. Open to the public, the hall offers a glimpse into the life of a successful merchant and the late Edo period.
