Located in Kawagoe's historic Ichiban-gai district, the former Kawagoe branch of Saitama Resona Bank is a striking Western-style building that stands out amidst the traditional Kurazukuri (warehouse-style) architecture. This early reinforced concrete structure, completed in 1918, features a distinctive copper-green domed roof and was designed by Katsuya Yasuoka, a student of architect Kingo Tatsuno. While the building no longer functions as a bank branch (now an ATM corner), its preserved facade offers a glimpse into the Taisho era. It's a quick and worthwhile stop while exploring the area. Best viewed during the day to appreciate its architectural details.
