Ozu Castle, originally built by the Utsunomiya clan in the Kamakura period and later expanded by Takatora Todo, offers a glimpse into Japan's feudal past. Though the original castle keep was dismantled in 1888, four of its turrets remain as Important Cultural Properties. The current four-story keep, reconstructed in 2004 using traditional methods, provides panoramic views of Ozu city and the Hijikawa River. Visitors can explore the castle's interior, admire its wooden construction, and learn about its history. Located a 15-minute drive from Ozu IC, the castle is easily accessible and offers a combined ticket with Garyu Sanso Villa.
