The Nishibori Eizaburo Memorial Hall of Exploration commemorates Eizaburo Nishibori, the leader of the first Japanese Antarctic wintering party, and honors 50 outstanding Japanese explorers. Located in Higashiomi, Shiga Prefecture, the hall is accessible by bus from Yokaichi Station or a 10-minute drive from the Yokkaichi Interchange. While the popular -25℃ Antarctic experience zone is now closed, the museum still offers exhibits and videos related to exploration and Antarctica. Visitors can also view a model of the Senpū-Go, the aircraft used in the first flight over Aisho Town. Art exhibitions by local artists are held in the second exhibition room. Open to all, with free admission for Higashiomi residents.
