Hōkoku Shrine, also known as Senjokaku (Hall of 1000 Mats), is located near Itsukushima Shrine on Miyajima Island. Built by Toyotomi Hideyoshi in 1587 as a Buddhist hall, it remains unfinished due to his death. Visitors can explore the vast, open structure with its impressive pillars and enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding area. The shrine is a short walk from the Miyajima ferry terminal and offers a glimpse into Momoyama-era architecture. Admission is ¥100 for adults and ¥50 for children.
