Naramata Dam, completed in 1990, is a rock-fill dam on the Naramata River, a branch of the Tone River, in Minakami, Gunma Prefecture. Surrounded by the stunning peaks of the Oze region, including Mt. Shisen, this 158-meter-high dam is the third largest of its kind in Japan. Visitors can walk across the dam's bridge for scenic views or explore the nearby Hilltop Naramata museum and shop. The dam is particularly beautiful during the autumn foliage season. Access is available via bus from Minakami Station.
