Minakuchi Children's Forest

Overview

Minakuchi Children's Forest is a natural park that utilizes the satoyama landscape, offering opportunities for nature observation and outdoor activities. Located in Koka City, Shiga Prefecture, it's accessible via a 25-minute walk from JR Kibukawa Station or a 20-minute walk from Ohmi Railway Minakuchi-Jonan Station. By car, it's a 15-minute drive from both Koka Tsuchiyama IC and Konan IC on the Shin-Meishin Expressway. The park features a Nature Museum (admission fee applies: ¥200 for adults, ¥100 for children) with exhibits including a recreation of Minakuchi from 2.3 million years ago. Visitors can explore walking trails and observe local flora and fauna. Note that mosquitoes can be prevalent in the evening. The park spans 34 hectares, providing ample space for exploration and relaxation.
