Kanmuri Tenmangu Shrine is located in Hikari, Yamaguchi Prefecture. Known as a shrine dedicated to Sugawara Michizane, the god of learning, it's a popular spot for students and those seeking academic success. The shrine is easily accessible from National Route 188, marked by a large torii gate and stone steps. A red bridge connects the shrine to Kanmuri Baien Plum Garden, making it a delightful visit during the plum blossom season. The grounds are well-maintained, offering a serene atmosphere for contemplation. Note that the former "Kanmuri Meisui" spring water is no longer recommended for drinking due to water quality changes.
