Odaki and Medaki Falls

Overview

Odaki and Medaki Falls, located in Nagiso, Nagano, are featured in Eiji Yoshikawa's novel "Miyamoto Musashi" as the romantic backdrop for Musashi and Otsu. Odaki (male waterfall) is on the left, and Medaki (female waterfall) is on the right. These falls, while not very tall, offer a refreshing experience with ample water flow, especially after rain. Visitors can park nearby and walk a short, somewhat steep path to reach the falls. Be cautious with young children or elderly companions due to the terrain. The falls are a historical rest stop along the Nakasendo trail, providing a serene, natural setting.
