The Sanada Residence in Nagano City, also known as the Suishin-Shugetsutei, was built by the 9th lord of the Matsushiro Domain, Yukinori Sanada, as a retirement home for his mother. This historical site features a stunning garden and offers a glimpse into the life of a prominent samurai family. Located near the Sanada Treasure Museum and Sanada Park (where you can find the Sanada Nobuyuki statue), the residence is easily accessible by bus from Nagano Station. Explore the meticulously preserved rooms and admire the traditional Japanese architecture. The best time to visit is during the day to fully appreciate the garden's beauty. Entry fee is ¥400.
