Chigogafuchi Abyss, located on the western edge of Enoshima Island, is a scenic spot known for its stunning views and unique geological formations. This coastal terrace, formed by uplift, offers panoramic vistas of the Sagami Bay and, on clear days, Mount Fuji. The name "Chigogafuchi" comes from a legend about a young boy, Shirokiku, who tragically leapt into the abyss. Visitors can explore the rugged rock formations and enjoy the sunset, which is recognized as one of Kanagawa's 50 most scenic spots. Getting there involves a walk from Enoshima Station and descending some steep steps, but the breathtaking scenery makes it worth the effort. It's a popular spot for fishing and photography.
