Mount Hokuchin, the second highest peak in Hokkaido at 2,244 meters, offers stunning panoramic views of the Daisetsuzan mountain range. Located in Kamikawa, Hokkaido, it can be accessed via several hiking routes, including those from Asahidake Ropeway, Kurodake Ropeway, and Aizankei. The trail from Kurodake is shorter, but many recommend ascending Asahidake first for an easier trek. A detour from the Kurodake-Asahidake traverse takes about 40 minutes roundtrip, rewarding hikers with vistas of the Aibetsu-dake area. The best time to visit is in July to see the swan-shaped snowfield, though some snow may remain on the trails.
