Kuroishi Shrine, located in Kuroishi City, is dedicated to Tsugaru Nobuhide, the founder of the Kuroishi-Tsugaru clan and the Kuroishi Domain. Established in 1662, the shrine features a unique black Mikage stone torii gate and a copper-plated main hall roof, reflecting the area's heavy snowfall. Adjacent to the Kuroishi City Hall, it's about a 10-minute walk from Kuroishi Station on the Konan Railway. The shrine also houses the Tosho-gu Shrine, dedicated to Tokugawa Ieyasu, and the site includes the remains of Kuroishi Castle. A visit offers a glimpse into the local history and the serene atmosphere of a traditional Japanese shrine.
