Tokko-no-Yu is the legendary birthplace of Shuzenji Onsen, located along the Katsura River in the heart of Shuzenji. According to legend, the revered monk Kobo Daishi struck the river rocks with his tokko (a Buddhist tool), causing a healing spring to emerge. Though you can no longer bathe here, it remains a symbolic landmark and the oldest hot spring in the Izu Peninsula. It's a must-see while exploring the area. Visit during the day to fully appreciate the scenery. A foot bath is available nearby.
