The Chizu Town Honjin Site marks the location of a former honjin (official lodging) used during the Edo period for lords traveling to and from Edo (present-day Tokyo). Located next to the Nakamachi Community Center in Chizu, Tottori Prefecture, the site is marked by a stone monument and informational sign. While the original structure no longer exists, the site offers a glimpse into the area's history as a stop on the Chizu-kaido road used for sankin-kotai (alternate attendance). Visitors can learn about the scale of the original facility and its significance as the first lodging point from Tottori for the Ikeda lords. A visit to this site is best combined with a tour of the Chizu-juku area to fully appreciate its historical context.
