Located on the island of Inujima, the Inujima Seirensho Art Museum is a unique blend of industrial heritage, contemporary art, and environmental consciousness. The museum repurposes the remnants of a former copper refinery, including brick factory ruins and a large chimney, into art spaces. Designed by Hiroshi Sambuichi, the architecture uses only natural energy to maintain a comfortable environment. Inside, discover collaborative artworks by Yukinori Yanagi and environmental systems developed with Okayama University. It's best to visit during the open season (March to November) to fully appreciate the art and architecture. Allow at least 90 minutes to explore the museum and surrounding refinery ruins.
