The Wakasa Hometown Culture Village is a unique open-air museum located a short walk from Wakasa Station on the Wakasa Railway Wakasa Line. This free attraction brings together historically significant buildings from the region, including the Wakasa Town Historical Folk Museum, the Takumi no Yakata (craftsman's house), the Mitsukida family residence, and the relocated Sanmon gate of Mount Mudo Eifuku Temple. Visitors can freely explore these structures, offering a glimpse into the area's cultural heritage. It's an ideal spot for a leisurely stroll and a dose of local history. Open from 9:00 to 17:00, but closed on Mondays (or the following day if Monday is a public holiday).
