The Ejima Enclosure Residence is a reconstructed estate where Ejima, a high-ranking lady-in-waiting, was confined after the Ejima-Ikushima affair. Located within the Takato Town History Museum in Ina, Nagano, this modest residence offers a glimpse into Ejima's life in exile. Visitors can see the simple living quarters and imagine her isolated existence. The surrounding walls with their deterrent spikes highlight the severity of her confinement. It's best visited in the afternoon and is easily accessible from Ina IC or Suwa IC, or by bus from JR Iida Line's Ina-shi Station.
