Hunter Mountain Shiobara is one of the largest snow resorts near Tokyo, featuring 12 courses and a 3,000-meter long run. The slopes are known for their excellent, consistently groomed conditions. A popular kids' park with sledding and tubing is also available. Located in Nasushiobara, Tochigi Prefecture, it's accessible from the Tohoku Expressway or by bus from JR Nasushiobara Station (reservations required for the free shuttle). Open from late November to early April, Hunter Mountain Shiobara offers snowboarding, a snow park, and various ski lifts. Parking is available for a fee.
