The Hokutan Kasei Kogyosho Coke Oven Chimney stands as a landmark in Yubari, a testament to the city's coal mining history. This 63-meter tall chimney, once part of a coal chemical plant established in 1902, now serves as a symbol of Yubari's past. Located near the Yubari Onsen Yubaro no Yu, the chimney is best viewed from a distance, offering a glimpse into the region's industrial heritage. While the site itself is not open to the public, the chimney is easily visible from the surrounding area, especially from the Yubari-Iwamizawa Route 38. It's a poignant reminder of Yubari's prosperous past as a coal-mining town.
