Taima-dera Temple, founded in 612, is a historic temple located on the eastern slopes of Mt. Nijo, bordering Nara and Osaka. Known for its connection to the legend of Princess Chujo, the temple features the Lotus Thread Mandala, the east and west pagodas from the Tenpyo era, and Japan's oldest bronze bell and stone lantern from the Hakuhō period. The annual Taima-dera Neri Kuyo E-shiki ceremony on April 14 attracts many visitors. The temple is also celebrated for its seasonal flowers, including vibrant peonies, plum blossoms, cherry blossoms, and azaleas. Open to explore, with a fee of ¥500 for access to the main halls.
