Sarutobi Gorge, a scenic highlight of Kurobe Gorge, is named after monkeys said to have once leaped across its narrowest point. This designated Special Place of Scenic Beauty and Special Natural Monument features towering cliffs and a rushing river carving through the rocks. Visitors can access the gorge via a 90-minute ride on the Kurobe Gorge Railway from Unazuki Onsen Station, followed by a 20-minute walk. Note that parts of the walking trail may be closed due to past heavy rain damage. The gorge is particularly stunning during the autumn foliage season, offering vibrant colors against the backdrop of the emerald green river.
