Nakata Kannon (Kouanji Temple) is a revered site in Aizumisato, Fukushima, known as one of the Aizu Korori Three Kannon temples. It is the 30th temple on the Aizu Thirty-Three Kannon Pilgrimage. The temple is famous for its gentle-faced, bronze eleven-faced Kannon statue, flanked uniquely by Fudo Myoo and Jizo Bodhisattva. Designated as a National Important Cultural Property, it's affectionately called "Nakata no Kannon-sama" and is visited for blessings of matchmaking and protection from severing ties. The temple is also known for its connection to Hideyo Noguchi's mother, Shika, who frequently prayed here for her son's recovery and success. Located a 10-minute walk from JR Negishi Station, it's easily accessible for visitors.
