Izutsuya Headquarters Factory in Maibara is renowned as a long-established provider of Ekiben (train station bento boxes) since 1890. Located near Maibara Station, it offers a taste of local flavors with specialties like the Omi beef bento. While the standing-style udon and soba shop that was once a fixture on the train platform is no longer available, you can still purchase Ekiben inside the station concourse. The main shop is a short walk from the station's west exit. It's a convenient spot to grab a quick and tasty meal before or after your train journey.
