Located atop Mount Tento in Abashiri, the Mount Tento Observatory offers panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. From this vantage point, visitors can see Lake Abashiri to the west and Lake Notoro to the east, with the Abashiri Prison's farmlands in the foreground. To the east, views extend to Mount Shari, Mount Kaiunbetsu, the Shiretoko Mountain Range, and the Sea of Okhotsk. The observatory, accessible via bus from Abashiri Station, is located on the roof of the Okhotsk Ryuhyo Museum and is free to enter.
