The Miracle Pine is a symbol of resilience and hope in the face of the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake. Originally part of a forest of 70,000 pine trees, it was the only one to survive the tsunami. Though it later died due to saltwater damage, it has been preserved as a monument. Visitors can see the replica standing tall within the Tsunami Reconstruction Memorial Park. Nearby, the remains of the Rikuzentakata Youth Hostel serve as a stark reminder of the disaster. This moving site offers a place for reflection and remembrance.
