Shiretoko First Lake (Shiretoko Ichiko) is the only one of the Shiretoko Five Lakes accessible via an elevated boardwalk, making it an easy and safe way to experience the area's natural beauty. The boardwalk is wheelchair accessible and offers stunning views of the lake and the Shiretoko Mountain Range. From the observation deck, visitors can also spot the Sea of Okhotsk. The boardwalk is equipped with an electric fence to keep bears away, allowing visitors to freely enjoy the scenery. It takes about 40 minutes to walk the 1.6km round trip on the boardwalk.
