Tsuesugi-an is known as the place where Emon Saburo, the legendary figure said to have first completed the Shikoku Pilgrimage, met his end. Located near the midpoint between Nabeiwa and Yaki-yama Temple, it features a large cedar tree that serves as a landmark. The site includes a hermitage, stone statues of Emon Saburo and Kobo Daishi, and stone monuments. Visitors can reflect on the story of Emon Saburo's repentance and Kobo Daishi's compassion. The temple grounds offer a serene atmosphere, perfect for a quiet visit while traveling the Shikoku Pilgrimage route. Note that the temple is unmanned, and the Goshuin stamp can be obtained at Yaki-yama Temple.
