Located on a small hill overlooking the preserved townscape of Katsuyama, the Katsuyama Culture Exchange Hall Hishio is a modern building that reuses old tiles and features earthen walls. The name "Hishio" comes from the old soy sauce brewery that once stood on this site. The hall hosts various exhibitions of crafts, sculptures, and paintings, as well as mini-concerts and readings. The on-site cafe "Uenodan" offers carefully brewed coffee in a relaxing atmosphere. It's easily accessible by car, about 20 minutes from Kusei IC. Open daily except Wednesdays, it's a great place to relax and enjoy the view.
