Overview

Located within Tokushima Central Park, a 10-minute walk from JR Tokushima Station, the Tokushima Castle Museum showcases the history of the Tokushima Domain and the Hachisuka family. Explore exhibits detailing the domain's political changes, daimyo life and culture, castle structure, and the activities of the Awa Navy. Don't miss the chance to see the daimyo's ship, one of the few remaining in Japan, and enjoy the adjacent garden (separate admission fee). Volunteer guides are available for a more in-depth experience. A visit to the museum also grants free access to the Tokushima Castle Omote Goten Garden.
