Step back in time at Penny Candy Lane (Kashiya Yokochō) near Toki no Kane in Kawagoe. Once home to over 70 confectionery shops in the early Showa era, about 20 remain today, selling traditional Japanese sweets like senbei and ame-dama. Enjoy the nostalgic atmosphere of this charming lane, selected as one of Japan's "Fragrant Scenery 100 Selections" by the Ministry of the Environment in 2001. Most shops are closed on Mondays.
