The Kurashiki Folkcraft Museum, housed in a renovated late-Edo period rice warehouse, is the second oldest folkcraft museum in Japan. Located in the heart of Kurashiki's Bikan Historical Quarter, near the Nakabashi bridge, it showcases a collection of approximately 15,000 robust and beautiful items used in daily life from around the world. Visitors can explore exhibits of ceramics, textiles, woodwork, and other crafts, primarily from Japan but also including pieces from other countries. The museum provides insight into the "beauty of everyday objects." Allow at least an hour to fully appreciate the displays. Open during daytime hours; check the official website for current exhibitions.
