Kimiidera Temple, also known as Kimiidera, is a historic temple and the second stop on the Saigoku Kannon Pilgrimage. The name "Kimiidera" comes from the three sacred wells found on the mountain. It's famous for its early-blooming cherry blossoms, with around 600 trees, earning it the nickname "The Temple That Calls Spring to the Kinki Region." Visitors can enjoy panoramic views of Wakaura Bay from the temple grounds after climbing the 231 stone steps past the vermilion-lacquered two-story gate. The temple is accessible via a 10-minute walk from Kimiidera Station on the JR Kinokuni Line or a bus ride from JR Wakayama Station. Wheelchair accessible and service dogs are welcome.
