The Former Toki Residence Western-Style Building, also known as the Ubukata Memorial Library, is a nationally registered tangible cultural property built in 1924. This unique building showcases a blend of Western and Japanese architectural styles, featuring a Western-style exterior and both Western and Japanese-style reception rooms inside. Notable for its German suburban villa design, complete with distinctive roof windows, it represents a prime example of Taisho-era architecture. Located in Numata, Gunma Prefecture, it's easily accessible by car or bus from Numata IC or Numata Station. Open from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM on select days, it offers a glimpse into the elegant lifestyle of the Taisho period.
