The Iwatani Jomon Site is an archaeological site located along National Route 320, between Kihoku Town's Izumi Elementary School and the Hiromi River in Ehime Prefecture. This Jomon period settlement features a rare (for western Japan) stone arrangement structure. The site is open 24 hours for viewing, allowing visitors to explore the roofed-over stone arrangement up close. It's a great place to learn about history in a hands-on environment. The adjacent elementary school also uses the site for educational purposes. Visit anytime to experience this ancient site.
