Nayoro Church

Overview

Located near Nayoro Station, the Nayoro Church is a charming Western-style building and Nayoro City's first designated cultural property, built in 1909. This green landmark is the oldest existing Western-style building in the city and a beloved symbol. While typically closed to the public as it's an active religious facility, visitors might get lucky and find it open for a peek inside, especially if the caretaker is present. Admire the beautiful green exterior, renovated in 2019, and the adjacent Nayoro Kindergarten, established by the church in 1923.
