Otome Falls, located in the Yokoya Valley of Nagano Prefecture, is a stunning 15-meter waterfall easily accessible from the Yokoya Valley entrance. Despite its name suggesting gentleness, the falls are powerful, cascading down a rocky cliffside. While often mistaken as a natural waterfall, it's actually part of the Ogawara Weir, an agricultural waterway sourced from Mount Tateshina. Visitors can enjoy the falls year-round, with particularly beautiful scenery in autumn when the surrounding foliage is ablaze with color, and in spring when the new greenery emerges. The falls are a short walk from the parking area, making it a convenient stop for those exploring the area.
