The Furo Bridge is an arched stone bridge in Wakanoura, Wakayama, constructed in 1851 by order of Tokugawa Harutomi, the tenth lord of the Kishu domain. Originally part of the "Onarimichi" used by the Tokugawa family and Toshogu Shrine officials during the Waka Festival, it's now designated as a Wakayama City cultural property. The bridge features unique cloud-patterned reliefs and stonework by artisans from Higo Kumamoto and Yuasa. While you can no longer cross the bridge due to its age, the views, especially from the former Ashibeya site, are stunning. It's easily accessible by bus from JR Wakayama Station or Nankai Wakayamashi Station.
