Located in Takehara's historic preservation district, the Taketsuru Brewing Company is the birthplace of Masataka Taketsuru, the founder of Nikka Whisky and known as the "Father of Japanese Whisky." While tours of the brewery are not available, visitors can appreciate the traditional architecture and the brewery's historical significance from the outside. The brewery continues to produce sake using traditional methods. Nearby, you can find a statue of Masataka Taketsuru and his wife Rita. It's a great spot to combine with a stroll through the charming streets of Takehara.
