Located in the heart of Ikaho Onsen's iconic stone steps, Ashiyu Kishigoken Tatsunoyu is a free foot bath offered by the historic Kishigoken Ryokan. This popular spot, featured in the movie "Thermae Romae," allows visitors to relax and soak their feet in the therapeutic golden waters of Ikaho's natural hot spring. Conveniently situated near the 263rd step, it's an ideal place to take a break while exploring the town. The foot bath uses 100% natural sulfate spring water and is open to everyone, not just ryokan guests. Note that it's typically busiest during the day, and you'll need to bring your own towel.
