Enoshima Daishi is a relatively new temple, founded in 1993 as a branch of the Koyasan Saifukuji in Kagoshima. Located near the Samuel Cocking Garden on Enoshima Island, it's easily accessible and offers free admission. The temple is known for its striking red statues at the entrance and its main attraction: one of the largest indoor Red Fudo statues in Japan, standing at approximately 6 meters tall. Visitors can also view Chinese embroidery Buddhist paintings. The temple provides a unique contrast to the traditional Enoshima Shrine and is worth a visit while exploring the island.
