Futago-ji Temple, located in Kunisaki, is a historic Tendai Buddhist temple dating back to 718 AD. As the head temple of the Rokugo Manzan temples, it offers a serene escape with notable features like the towering Niō statues at the entrance, some of the largest on the Kunisaki Peninsula. The temple is renowned for its autumn foliage, making it a popular destination during the fall. Visitors can explore the main hall, the Okunoin inner sanctuary, and various stone monuments scattered throughout the grounds. The temple is also known as a place for prayers for longevity and fertility. Open from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM during warmer months and slightly shorter hours in winter. Admission is ¥300 for adults.
