Kinryu-ji Temple

Overview

Kinryu-ji Temple, founded in 1421, is a serene Jodo sect temple located in Tochigi City, just a 10-minute walk from Tochigi Station. The temple is known as the burial site of the renowned author Yuzo Yamamoto, famous for "The Stone by the Wayside." Visitors can explore the temple grounds, admire the unique angled pine tree, and view the impressive Buddhist statues in the newer hall near the gate. The temple also holds monthly Buddhist lectures and sutra copying sessions, offering a chance for deeper reflection.
