Sakakibara is nestled in the mountains at the western edge of Tsu City, along the Yunose River. Known for its historical connection to Ise Grand Shrine, it's said imperial princesses purified themselves here before heading to the shrine. Reputedly praised by Sei Shōnagon in The Pillow Book, the alkaline waters are around 30°C and believed to alleviate chronic joint pain, skin conditions, and fatigue. Access is via Kintetsu Sakakibara-Onsenguchi Station (15-min bus) or Kintetsu Hisai Station (35-min bus).
