The Tonokuchi Irrigation Canal Cave is a historic site located near Mount Iimori in Aizuwakamatsu, Fukushima Prefecture. This 150-meter-long tunnel was originally constructed in 1835 to draw water from Lake Inawashiro for irrigation. It gained prominence as a passage used by the Byakkotai (White Tiger Corps) during the Boshin War in 1868. Visitors can see the cave's entrance and the flowing water, reflecting on the poignant history of the young Byakkotai warriors. The site is close to other attractions like Sazae-do Hall and Itsukushima Shrine, making it a worthwhile stop when visiting Mount Iimori.
