Explore the Shimizutani Refinery Ruins, a historical site from the Meiji era located in the mountains of Oda, Shimane Prefecture, within the Iwami Ginzan Silver Mine area. Constructed by the Fujita Group, this refinery operated for only a year and a half due to low silver content in the mined ore. Today, visitors can view the remains of the refinery, including impressive stone walls that resemble castle ramparts, now covered in moss and integrated with the surrounding nature. The site offers a glimpse into the area's silver refining past and provides a unique, somewhat secluded atmosphere. Access is a 30-minute walk from the Omori bus stop (28-minute bus ride from JR Oda-shi Station).
