Explore the Komorizuka Tumulus, a significant keyhole-shaped tomb dating back to the late 6th century. This ancient burial mound features a 19.4-meter-long horizontal stone chamber, one of the largest in the country, where you can view a stone coffin. The tumulus, once known as "Kurohimezuka," is one of Okayama Prefecture's three great megalithic tombs. Located near Bitchu Kokubunji Temple in Soja, it's easily accessible and offers a glimpse into the region's powerful ancient clans. The interior of the stone chamber maintains a cool temperature in summer and a warmer temperature in winter. Guided tours are available, especially during Golden Week, providing detailed insights into the tomb's history and construction.
